Cate’s Nana and Poppa got her a swing for Christmas. I know, I know…she got the present early but it’s a little hard to hide the swing from a little girl that likes to be outside A LOT. After 176 hours of labor in assembling all 18,000 parts here are some pictures of the finished product and a shot or two of it in use. She would sleep on the thing if we’d let her.

Cate is getting geared up for the holidays. There are a hodge podge of pictures in this album. Some from her Holiday Festival at school, the Very Merry Christmas Party at Disney, a few from Thanksgiving in Buffalo, and some others. If you look really close at the Santa picture you might be recognize Santa from her school festival.

Cate went to Sea World this past weekend. After a stressful night of trick or treating she needed to let her hair down and get away. She seemed to really enjoy the day. I did tramatize her several times throughout the day all on accident of course.
- They had a huge tube slide that she said she wanted to go on. As I pushed her down the first couple feet the smile on her face changed to a look of horror. I realized the slide was not going to work out when she was about a foot past my reach. She came to a stop about mid-way down and looked back up at me with a look of ‘How could you do this to me????’. The slide was too small for me to go down so I ran down the steps to the bottom. By this time Grandma had coaxed her down the rest of the way. So, once again…parent of the month award is out for this month.
- I tried to take her on a teacup type ride. We were the only two on and the operator kicked us off because Cate was crying so much about the ride. It seemed liked a good idea when we got on.
Besides the two life changing events, the rest of the day was fun. Cate loved all the animals and had a great time running around.

Cate wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween. She dressed up as Tinkerbell this year. She went trick or treating with her buddy Ben. She was not very fond of going up to houses but we managed to get through it. She made out pretty well because Ben pulled her around in his wagon for at least half of the block. I was tired just from watching the little guy.
Here are some pictures of Cate’s 2nd annual Halloween outing.

Cate fell asleep standing up over the weekend. It was pretty funny. We, of course, snapped a picture of it with hopes of embarrassing her at an opportune time in the future. Here it is:

Cate went to visit her Grandma and Grandpa in Buffalo this weekend. Aunt Sharon was visiting from Boise too. She had a great time celebrating her Grandma and Aunt Sharon’s birthdays, playing outside, visiting a farm, and going to Skaneateles, NY (Pronounced Skinny-Atlas). She even wore a silly hat for the birthday party. She loves being outside but she’s certain she doesn’t like flies or worms.
Here are some pictures of the trip:

Here are two recent videos of Cate. The first one is her practicing making all of her animal sounds. The second is her getting a call on her mom’s cell phone. Enjoy.

Well, Brooke and Cate beat me into puppy submission this weekend. After a several month stand-off we got a 9 week old Border Collie that has since been named ‘Maggie’. I gave a good fight but in the end I was defeated.
I know what you’re thinking…’The last time you were defeated in a puppy smackdown you guys adopted a 130 year old Beagle that needed to wear Depends when it stormed.’ Yes, friends your memory serves you well. Although Maggie seems like she is going to be a good fit so far. Cate thinks she is the coolest thing ever and Maggie seems pretty fond of her.
Maggie was born on a 200 acre horse and cattle farm where her mom and dad work as real working herding dogs. The owners have 5 Border Collies all together, Maggie’s parents Cali and Buster and 3 other dogs from previous litters.

Cate needed a haircut this past weekend so someone decided to try out their beautician skills. We soon discovered there is a reason why you need training and a license to cut hair. I’m not going to rat out the future Fantastic Sams employee but lets just say her name starts with ‘M’ and ryhmes with ‘Tommy’.
Here is a collage I put together. I think the haircut is similar to Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber. Brooke thinks she has a mullet. There is also some resemblance of the ‘Dutch Boy’ from Dutch Boy Paint Company.
Thankfully her hair grows back fast!
